Yvonne M. (Peterson) Brost

Yvonne M. Brost, 89, of Medford, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at her home, under the care of Hope Hospice, surrounded by family.

A memorial service for Yvonne will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Barb Krug officiating. Burial will follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Visitation will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

She was born on August 20, 1935 to George and Ada (Pinkert) Peterson in Medford. She attended Medford area schools and graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1953. She then went to the Gale Institute in Minneapolis and received her technical degree.

She married Leon A. Brost on October 23, 1957 in New Hampton, Iowa. They moved to Stetsonville in 1961 and resided there until moving to the town of Medford in 1967, where they continued farming until retirement. She enjoyed snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, riding horses, being outdoors, and spending time with family.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Dan (Carol) Brost of Medford, Kathy (Jeff) Hemer of Medford & Doug (Debbie) Brost of Medford; grandchildren, Shanon Ployhart, Anna Ferderer & Casey (Jarvous Robinson) Brost, Megan (Nate) Bilodeau, Ethan (Mary) & Ben (Laney) Hemer; great-grandchildren, Lauren Wildes, Masie Bilodeau, Rosie & Grace Hemer, and Devlin Gamillo & Renesmee Robinson. Yvonne is further survived by her niece, Jennifer (Bill) Wilson and nephew, Ron Mushel.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, infant son, Dale Robert Brost, and sisters, Phyllis Pope and Lynnette Peterson

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Yvonne’s name may be given to Hope Hospice.
