Sylvia M. Aldaba, 37, of Stetsonville, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home in Medford with Fr. Patrick McConnell officiating.
Visitation will from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Sylvia was born November 27, 1984 in Wichita, KS to Andrea (Aunquoe) and Heracleo Aldaba. She moved to Wisconsin in 1999 and graduated from Owen/Withee High School in 2000. She earned a degree in cosmetology from Moraine Park Technical College in 2015. She was currently working at Sierra Pacific Windows.
Sylvia’s son, Valentin was her world. She loved him so much and cherished spending time with him. She had a contagious smile and a huge heart. She had a gentle nature that allowed her to bring people together. She loved to keep things lighthearted and make people laugh.
As a child, her family remembers several occasions where Sylvia would bring home strays, which could mean cats, frogs, possums, or any other kind of animal she was trying to save. The cats became her babies, and she would dress them and take them on walks in the stroller. She collected frogs and dreamcatchers. She had a fascination with odd and extraordinary things, so was fitting that Halloween was her favorite holiday.
She is survived by her son, Valentin of Medford; mother, Andrea Aunquoe of Penhook, VA; father, Heracleo Aldaba of Mexico; sisters, Rosa Hernandez of Chicago, IL, Maria Rangel of Penhook, VA, Martha Martinez of Crivitz, WI; aunts, Celia Aldaba of Wichita, KS, Luz maria Aldaba of Medford, Angela Dunn of Oklahoma City, OK; uncles, Christopher Aunquoe of Penhook, VA, Daniel Aunquoe of NE, and Frederick Rouse of MO; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Maria Bernabe and Pedro Aldaba; maternal grandparents, Wilma Washington and Andrew Aunquoe; and an uncle, Abel Aldaba.
