Rosalie J. Brost, 93, of Medford passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Country Gardens under the care of Hope Hospice.
A funeral mass for Rosalie will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
Rosalie was born on September 1, 1932 to Emeal and Elsie (Johnson) Thompson in the Township of Hammel. She married Norbert J. Brost on June 2, 1951 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church; together they had 10 children. After raising their 10 children, Rosalie joined Norbert at their businesses Timberline Transport and Northwoods Trucking in a variety of administrative roles until her retirement.
In her retirement, Rosalie enjoyed keeping a beautiful yard, fishing, bowling, getting together with family and friends for coffee, playing Scrabble and Words With Friends.
Rosalie is survived by her children, Bev (Galen) Metz of Madison, Gary of Medford, Barb (Pete) Dums of Sacramento, CA, Larry (Cindy) of Panama City Beach, FL, Steve (Sandi) of Medford, Tom (Mary) of Medford, Brian (DeAnn) of Blair, Kevin (Mary Jo) of Medford, Dean (Janet) of Medford, and Kristi (David) Bernhardt of Madison; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 13 great step grandchildren. Rosalie is further survived by her siblings, Carol (Pat) Meyer of Medford, Betty Lekie of Medford, Darlene Barker of Harahan, LA, and Bob (Sharyn) Thompson of Medford; sister-in-law, Darlene “Dots” Thompson and many other family and friends.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 children in infancy: Dennis and Mary, great grandson, Solomon Brost and siblings, Lester Thompson and Luverne Huebner; brother-in-laws, Lyle Huebner and Richard Lekie.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Rosalie’s name may be given to Hope Hospice, Taylor County Moving for a Cure or the Medford VFW.
