Roland H. “Butch” Wiegel, 65, of Rib Lake, died Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his home.
A Celebration of Butch’s life will be held from 12-4 p.m., Sunday, August 29 at Zondlo’s Bar in Rib Lake.
He will be laid to rest next to his parents at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake at a later date.
Butch was born March 2, 1956 in Taylor County to Helen (Jarchow) and Henry Wiegel. He attended Rib Lake schools.
In 1980, Roland married Cindy Edelburg. Together they had three children, Tasha, Tabitha and Butch “BJ”. They later divorced.
Butch worked for the Medford Coop, then for Michael’s Corp. until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cribbage, cutting firewood, and watching baseball, especially watching his son BJ play for the Westboro Trojans and the Spirit Twins.
He is survived by his three children, Tasha (Chris) Wicks of Holcombe, Tabitha (Troy) Block of Dorchester, and Butch “BJ” (Shannon) Wiegel of Medford; siblings, Leon (Nancy) Jarchow of Westboro, Vicki Dassow of Medford, and Daniel Wiegel of Medford; grandchildren, Monica (Wyatt) Blashe, Devon (Jordan) Wicks, Dominick and Dylan Block, Shay and Tenley Wiegel; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Richard Dassow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
