Robert (Bob) W. Tlusty, 79, of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 surrounded by family at his home while under the care of hospice.
He was born May 14, 1946 in Medford to Walter and Margaret (Brandner) Tlusty. He graduated from Medford High School in 1964. Bob continued his education at UW-Marathon County until enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1969.
Following his military service, Bob returned to UW-Milwaukee graduating with a degree in Business Administration.
Bob worked in construction, in concrete and cement work for most of his life, retiring in 2011.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors, spending as much time as possible in the woods. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed nature and traveling throughout the United States.
He is survived by his siblings, Judy (Richard) Mercier of Ashland, Mary (Ronald) Mauer of Delafield and John (Annette) Tlusty of Medford along with his dearest, lifelong friend, Nancy Makinen, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walt and Marge, and his brother, Dennis Tlusty.
Visitation will be from 9 -11a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Whittlesey. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. with Fr. Patrick McConnell officiating. Interment after Mass will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be given by the Medford Area Military Honors Team. Luncheon and fellowship to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be given per Bob's final wishes.
