Richard Frahmann Obituary

Richard W. Frahmann, 83, of Medford, town of Browning, joined his wife Marion in Heaven on their 59th wedding anniversary, Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

He was born January 21, 1941 in the town of Little Black to Otto and Elizabeth (Krug) Frahmann.  He graduated from Medford High School, then continued his education at the Taylor County Teacher’s College earning his teaching degree.

Richard served in the U.S. Army from January 1962 until his honorable discharge in January 1965.  

On November 20, 1965, he married Marion L. Anderson.  They resided in Medford where Richard worked for the Taylor County Highway Dept., retiring in 2004.

Richard was always on the go, and enjoyed playing cribbage, bowling, cooking and baking for his family, reading and going to farm toy shows.  He was an avid collector of model cars and toy tractors.

He is survived by his son, Mitchel (Julie) Frahmann of Abbotsford; sisters, Dorothy Kraemer and Elaine Bartelt, both of Medford; three grandchildren, Kayla (Jacob) Underwood of Marshfield, Kressa and Khloe Frahmann, both of Abbotsford; three great-grandchildren, Evelynn, Everett and Elric Underwood; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marion in 2007; siblings, Raymond, Marjorie, Mildred and Alvin.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford with Barb Krug, SAM, officiating.  Military honors will immediately follow the service provided by the Medford Area Military Honors Team.  Following military rites, Richard and Marion will be laid to rest together at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, December 5 at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home in Medford, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated and may go to the Taylor County Senior Nutrition Program in Richard’s honor or to the Frances L. Simek Memorial Library in Medford.
