Mary Jean Salzman passed away on June 6, 2025 at the age of 91.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Lawrence “Larry” (Esther Becera) of Medford, David (Rita) of Medford, Mike (Rosa) of Afton, Peter (Susie) of Knoxville, TN, Paul (Jan) of Beloit, and Jean (Brad) Williams of Argyle, TX; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was born on May 3, 1934 in Westboro to Raymond and Apprilla Bundick. Mary was the youngest of ten children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence, and nine siblings. She graduated from Westboro High School in 1951.
On December 10, 1951, she married Lawrence Salzman in Westboro. They resided for most of their marriage in Medford, Wisconsin and Freeport, Illinois. In 1984, after successfully raising her six children, Mary began Mary’s License Agency in Freeport. She was proud of her success and that the business remains in operation today.
Mary enjoyed quilting, sewing and baking. She will be remembered for her delicious treats, warm hugs and sweet smile. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her many grandchildren who always asked Grandma to make their birthday cakes!
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, followed immediately by Mass with Fr. Julian Druffner officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Westboro.
Memorials may go to Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford.
