Mary Kay Bach, 87, of Colby, passed away in the early morning hours of January 2, 2026, at her home surrounded by family, under the care of Hope Hospice.
A memorial mass for Mary Kay will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, with Father Keith Kitzhaber officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Little Black, at a later date. Visitation will take place at St. Louis Catholic Church on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
Mary Kay was born on June 30, 1938, to Carl and Mary (Heier) Hoffman in Medford. She married Paul Bach Jr. on November 14, 1959, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. They farmed on Paul’s family farm in Little Black for 9 years before purchasing a farm in Dorchester. There, they farmed another 44 years while raising 6 children.
Mary Kay enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and baking with her children and grandchildren, and working side by side with her family on the farm. She was also active with St. Louis Church and the Dorchester Lioness Club.
Mary Kay is survived by her loving husband, Paul; children, Dennis (Julie) Bach of Dorchester, Julene Bartnik of Eden Prairie, MN, David (Valerie) Bach of Medford, Brian (Lisa) Bach of Deerfield, and Kevin (Jamie) Bach of Sauk City; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice (Larry) Jarocki of Kimberley; daughter-in-law, Christine Thomas; sister-in-law, Beverly Hoffman. Mary Kay is further survived by many other family members and friends.
Mary Kay was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Hoffman; her parents; and her son, Kenneth Bach.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary Kay’s name may be given to the Dorchester Library.
