Mark “Peanie” J. Pierce, 73, of Stetsonville, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
A celebration of Peanie’s life will be held at a later date.
Peanie was born on March 6, 1952, in Marshfield to Lawrence and Emma (Becker) Pierce. He graduated from Medford High School. Peanie worked as a mechanic at Merten’s Garage for 11 years before continuing his career with Galvin’s Trucking and later Black River Industries as a driver.
A proud and dedicated member of his community, Peanie volunteered with the Stetsonville Fire Department for more than 35 years. He will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit and gift of gab to anyone he met. He truly loved the connections that he made with others.
Peanie enjoyed an active life and treasured time spent racing snowmobiles, bowling, and playing softball for the Stetsonville team.
He is survived by his children, Briana (Andy) Falk of Waconia, MN, and Brent Pierce of Kewaunee; and his grandchildren, Emma, Jack, and Millie Pierce. He is further survived by his sister, Sue Scholl, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Peanie was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Emma.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Peanie’s name may be made to the Stetsonville Fire Department.
