Marjean Ruth Bootzin, 90, of Medford, died Monday October 2, 2023 at Stoney River Memory Care in Marshfield while under the care of Promedica Hospice.
A memorial mass will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Fr. Patrick McConnell officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery I, Medford.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated and may go to Holy Rosary Catholic School or Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Marjean's honor.
Marjean was born July 9, 1933 in Medford to John and Lenore (Mueller) Brandner. She grew up in Medford and graduated from Holy Cross High School in Merrill, class of 1950. She continued her education at the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Marshfield where she earned her nursing degree.
On October 29, 1955 she married Ivan Bootzin in Madison. They resided in Medford where Marjean worked as a nurse at the Memorial Hospital in Medford. She retired as supervisor of the long-term care unit.
Marjean enjoyed curling, golfing, playing bridge, going to casinos, socializing and being around people. She also liked to travel and one of her favorite places she had been was Hawaii. She was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susie (Chuck) Zenner, Sandi (Steve) Brost, all of Medford; siblings, Carol Engel, Robert Brandner, both of Medford, Paul Brandner of Arizona; sister-in-law, Joanne Brander of Medford; three grandchildren, Sara Brost of Marshfield, Ryan Brost of Medford, Peter Zenner of Coon Rapids, MN; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan in 2004; brother, Jack Brandner; and brother-in-law, Wayne Engel.
