Marion Parks Obituary

Marion L. Parks, 86, of Rib Lake, died Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Marshfield Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, October 7 at Medford United Methodist Church with Rev. John Hazen officiating. 

Burial will be at a later date at Greenleaf Cemetery in Marion, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Saturday at the church. 

Marion was born October 16, 1936 in Harvey, IL to Fred and Etta Grace (Scott) Sanders.  Her first years were spent in Bristol, IL until 1947 when her family moved to a farm near Pella, WI. She graduated from Marion High School in 1954. 

On March 18, 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Ramon E. Parks in Marion, WI.  They resided in Rib Lake where Marion spent most of her working years as a library aide in the Rib Lake School System. 

She was a member of Rib Lake United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and served as the church organist for over 50 years.  She enjoyed bowling in the Ladies Bowling League, cheering on the Brewers and the Packers, and spending time with her beloved family.

She is survived by her husband, Ramon of Rib Lake; children, Charles (Debra) Parks of Merrill, Richard (Shari) Parks of Marathon, William (Jody) Parks of Port Edwards, Ronald (Michelle) Parks of Altoona; son-in-law, Dennis Scheithauer of Rib Lake; siblings, Alice (Lyle) Passehl of Marion, Linda (John) Moscicki of Hartford, Tod (Debra) Sanders of Green Bay; sister-in-law, Jill Sanders of Seymour; 14 grandchildren, Craig (Joelle) Scheithauer, Dana Scheithauer, Kyle (Jenilee) Scheithauer, Nathan (Kathy) Parks, Nicki (Travis) Taves, Nina Parks, Allison Michels, Reid and Anika Parks, Corey and Carson Parks, Morgan, Riley and Reggie Parks; 13 great-grandchildren, Ciara, Carter, Josie, Brady, Tatum, Donovan, Abbie, Evie, Tobias, Lillian, Layton, Logan and Avery; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Reynold and Evelyn Parks; brother, Fred Sanders; brother-in-law, Donald Parks; a son, David Parks; and daughter, Elizabeth Scheithauer.
