Marcella Hraby Obituary

Marcella M. Hraby, 97, of Medford, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at The Waterford of Colby, under the care of Heartland Hospice.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Patrick McConnell officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

Marcella was born on January 3, 1928 in the Town of Greenwood to William and Rose (Roiger) Tilch. Her marriage to Joseph Hraby took place on November 30, 1946 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in the Town of Greenwood. He died September 12, 1998. She was a homemaker and mother while helping with the farming until they retired. They moved to Medford in 1991. Following retirement, she worked part-time at several cafes.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and being outdoors.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Marcella is survived by her two children, Alan (Peggy) and Barbara (Don) Grant; daughter-in-law, Linda Hraby; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived two sisters, Cecelia Szomi and Margie Tilch; two brothers, Harvey (Mary) Tilch, and John (Sue) Tilch; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Tilch and Ann Tilch.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, son, Michael, infant son, parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to Historic St. Ann’s or Holy Rosary.
