Kenneth “Ken” G. Holmes, 82, of Medford, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, where he had been a resident for the past six weeks.
A memorial mass for Ken will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Patrick McConnell officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Hemer Funeral Home on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at Holy Rosary on Friday, September 10 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
Ken was born on October 6, 1938 to Clyde and Bernice (Faude) Holmes is Medford. Ken married Mary Egle on August 29, 1959. Ken and his wife, Mary, operated the Holmes Mink Ranch for 45 years. They also operated Ken’s Bait Shop for 21 years, along with growing ginseng.
When he wasn’t working, Ken enjoyed downhill skiing in Colorado, hunting, fishing, riding bike, and four-wheeling with his grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Paula Liske of Medford; daughter-in-law, Jane Holmes of Medford; grandchildren, Jack, Lily, and Grace Holmes, Heidi (Jason) Thomas, and Holly (George) Korir; sibling, Shirley Poyda, Joan Gerke, Gary Holmes, and Clyde Holmes all of Medford. Ken is further survived by other family and friends.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, son, Tom Holmes, and brother, Harvey Holmes.
