Joyce was born November 19, 1944, on the family farm in the Town of Little Black, to Clarence and Florence (Cypher) Goessl.  Joyce married William “Bill” Grinker on September 12, 1964, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville.  Bill preceded her in death on June 16, 2013.

Joyce is survived by her children, Christine O’Toole of Stetsonville and Wendy Grinker of Marshfield; grandchildren Robert Fait, Nicholas (Brooke Cheek) Fait, and Amanda (Brandon Rudolph) O’Toole; siblings Charles (Judy) Goessl, Norb (Joanne) Goessl, Margaret (Frank) Bohte, Betty (Tom) Geiger, and Theresa (John) Fleischmann.  Further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Charles O’Toole; and sister and brother-in-law, Maryann and Delmar Lehman.

Joyce was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1962.  She worked in banking in her early years near Chicago and in Milwaukee.  After her marriage to Bill and the birth of their daughters, they settled in their home in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.  When she returned to work, it was in the construction management field working on projects like Children’s Hospital and a variety of colleges.  Later she was employed at Midwest Express Airlines as a rotables buyer, a job she truly enjoyed, sourcing parts for planes and negotiating contracts around the world.  She used to bake and decorate wedding cakes, enjoyed sewing, and oil painting.  She volunteered in Girl Scouts and Junior Miss when her daughters were involved.  Joyce was also on the Zoning Committee in Oak Creek for many years, as well as very active at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Caledonia, including parish counsel, the education committee, and annual festival events.

Bill and Joyce returned to the northwoods for retirement.  She loved being outdoors, especially keeping flowerbeds and gardens in order.  Together they enjoyed watching nature on their land, especially hummingbirds.

Joyce was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, even enjoying the masses on-line when she could no longer attend in person.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the family for future designation.
