Joyce A. (Frischman) Balciar

Joyce A. Balciar, 81, of Medford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Aspirus Hospital Medford.

A funeral service for Joyce will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Daniel Iwinski officiating. Burial will follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

Joyce was born on December 9, 1940 to Ewald and Ruth (Werner) Frischman in Medford. She was a Medford High School graduate. She married Kenneth Balciar on November 3, 1962; he survives. After high school she worked for a short time at Weather Shield before beginning her banking career at the State Bank of Medford where she worked for 28 years before moving to Industrial Credit union in Medford which later became People's Choice Credit Union, where she retired as the President. She was the recipient of the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Medford Chamber of Commerce.

In her spare time she enjoyed bowling , riding UTVs and snowmobiles, going to the lake, dominoes with the girls, reading, scrapbooking, crafts, going to the casino, NASCAR races, baking, traveling with Kenneth, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Kenneth; children, Scott Balciar, Shelley (Brad) Hutchinson, and Shawn (Dana) Balciar, all of Medford; grandchildren, Brett and Gabe Hutchinson and Devin Balciar; sisters, Betty Widmer of Medford and Peggy Brehm of Marshfield; her dog, Jessie. Joyce is further survived by other family and friends.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, Wayne Widmer and Mike Brehm.
