John A. Pfaff, AKA “ Badger” or “Beaver”, age 73, of Stetsonville, died Friday, May 2, 2025 at the VA Hospital in Madison.
He was born May 14, 1951 in Medford to Arthur and Edna (Underwood) Pfaff. He graduated from Medford High School in 1969. John served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1971 until his honorable discharge in 1974.
On September 16, 1988, John married Joan Imbach at Zion Lutheran Church in Stetsonville. They resided in Stetsonville and John worked for Weather Shield, then Northwest Hardwoods for many years.
John loved being on the open road on his Harley-Davidson. He and Joanie put many miles on throughout the state and the Midwest, taking in the beautiful scenery. One of his favorite rides was to Rib Falls. Along with knowing a lot about motorcycles, he also knew the year, make and model of every car. He enjoyed working on cars and teaching his children how to take care of them as well. He also enjoyed listening to music and chatting on the phone with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Joanie of Stetsonville; their children, Maggie Pfaff (Scott Gurklis) of Thorp, Mike Pfaff of Stetsonville; and siblings, Bob (Barb) Pfaff of Rib Mountain, Lucille Miller of Dorchester.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Nikki and Billy Pfaff; in-laws, Joe and Betty Imbach; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Miller.
All are welcome to join the family in a Celebration of John’s Life on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 1-5 p.m. at the Centennial Hall in Stetsonville. Please come to share memories and partake in a meal and refreshments.
John will be buried in a private family ceremony at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Stetsonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated and will be designated by the family at a later date.
