Jane E. (Tacke) Clausnitzer

Jane Ellen Clausnitzer, age 91, of Medford was taken to her Heavenly home on June 12, 2022 at Aspirus Hospital in Medford.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford with Pastor Daniel Iwinski officiating.  Family and friends are welcome to a visitation from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at 11:00 AM at church.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetary II.

Jane was born June 17, 1930 in Milwaukee to Helmuth and Myrtle (Berndt) Tacke.  She was baptized and confirmed at Zebaoth Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.  She graduated from Lutheran High School in Milwaukee and worked at First Wisconsin National Bank in Milwaukee until her marriage to David Clausnitzer on October 10, 1953.  She then moved to Medford and was a wonderful homemaker and mother. 

Jane’s love for flowers and birds was evident by her numerous bird feeders and her abundant flower gardens.   She was always on the lookout for a bargain at rummage sales.  She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, bowling up until recent years, and could play a “mean” Sack Waltz on the piano.  She also enjoyed her grandchildren and hearing of all their adventures.  Her love for her Lord carried her through life, reflected by her involvement in the church’s activities and her passion for mission work.

Survivors include two daughters, Jerri (Steve) Suchomel of Medford and Kris (Brian) Miller of Oakfield.  Grandchildren - Brian (Amanda), Shelby (Ken), Nicky (Matt), Clint (Lisa) and Jenny (Josh).  She was Great Grandma Jane to eight loving kiddos…Taylor, Maira, Otto, Landon, Mathew, Carli, Leah and Caleb.

She is further survived by a sister, Faith Bischof of Indiana, sisters-in-law Joyce Tacke of West Bend and Donna Clausnitzer of Medford, and many nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband David (2003), sons Mark (2006) and Tom (2011), siblings Doris Allan, Lester Tacke and Robert Tacke.

Memorial donations in Jane’s name may be given to the family for designation at a later date.
