Gerald A. Kallenbach, 92, of Medford, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Abbotsford Health Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 26, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Medford, with Rev. Daniel Iwinski officiating. Burial will follow at Medford Evergreen II Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Gerald was born April 23, 1929 in Price County to August and Selma (Foss) Kallenbach. At the age of 8, the family moved to Taylor County where Gerald attended grade school.
On September 11, 1954, Gerald married Evelyn Zuleger at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Gerald worked on his parent’s dairy farm until purchasing his own in the town of Browning in 1954 which he operated for 45 years before he retired. He also worked off farm as a laborer at Medford Co-op and Farmers Elevator Feed Mill, drove lime truck and bulk milk truck. He was active in the National Farmers Organization serving as county chapter president for several terms. He was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, reading history and playing cards.
He is survived by his six children, William Kallenbach of Algoma, Carol (Don) Krumm of Schofield, Martin (Janice) Kallenbach, David (Debbie) Kallenbach, Terry (Barbara) Kallenbach, all of Medford, Wendy Thompson of Oak Creek; grandchildren, Jay (Becky) Kallenbach, Craig (Kelly) Kallenbach, Travis (Jessica) Kallenbach, Tanya (Samuel) Kleutsch; great-grandchildren, Renly Kallenbach, Carter and Annalise Kallenbach, Easton and Lydia Kleutsch; brother, Robert (Jarda) Kallenbach of Medford; brother-in-law, Chester (Chris) Zuleger of Horicon; sister-in-law, Betty Zuleger of Medford; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn on June 9, 2021; son-in-law, Robert Thompson; sisters, Ruth Seefeld and Gertrude Soine; brother, Lee Kallenbach; brothers-in-law, James Seefeld, Ben Soine, Robert Zuleger, Don Widmer; sisters-in-law, Rita Kallenbach and Ruth Widmer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Time of Grace.
