Frances E. Hemmer, 96, of Medford, died Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Aspirus Care and Rehab.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Frances was born November 20, 1924 in Chicago to Frank and Kitty (Spencer) Klecka. She graduated from Harper High School in Chicago.
On June 1, 1946, Frances married Gilbert Hemmer in Chicago. After their marriage, they farmed in Iowa until 1964, then moved to the Stetsonville area. They dairy farmed for 66 years, retiring in 1990. Frances enjoyed going to the casino, watching the birds, crocheting, knitting and especially loved to spend time with her family.
Frances is survived by five sons, Ken (Tomi), Ed (Jeannie), Paul (Nancy), all of Medford, Ron (Rondi) of Owen, and John (Connie) of Stetsonville; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gilbert on November 29, 2012; siblings, Eleanor in infancy, Helen Doyle and Ed Klecka; grandson, Jason Hemmer; and a great-granddaughter, Charlee Hemmer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be designated at a later time.
