Floyd J. Rodman, 88, of Medford, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his home, under the care of Hope Hospice.
Floyd was born January 23, 1937 in Athens, WI to Herbert Sr. and Mary (Hoff) Rodman. He attended Athens High School. He married Shirley Lehman on June 16, 1956 in Pine City, MN and she preceded him in death in 2019.
Floyd is survived by his children, Deb Harder, Jim (Kelly) Rodman, Ken (Sue) Rodman, Brian (Julie) Rodman, Shelby (Kevin) Meyer, all of Medford, 14 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren and 2 on the way, brothers, Glenn Rodman of Kenai, AK and Randy (Linda) Rodman of Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Vernell Rodman of Athens. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son-in-law, George Harder; siblings, Herbie Rodman Jr., Diana (Dennis) Ibis, Nyle Rodman, and Nancy (Denny) Heier.
In his younger years, Floyd delivered bread and was a milkman. He then worked as a logger for a short time. He worked for Joe Berger, S.D. Ellenbecker, and Mike Dahl. He was self-employed as a contractor and worked in Alaska, California, and back home in Wisconsin.
Floyd enjoyed gardening and canning, hunting, ice fishing and trout fishing. He was a skilled woodworker and created many items for his family and friends. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at Floyd's residence, W5117 Allman Ave., Medford, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, starting at 12:00 PM For those who wish to donate in honor of Floyd, memorial contributions can be given to Hope Hospice.
