Donald R. Paustenbach (Da Paus) passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at his home.
A private family service will take place and a celebration of life will take place at A&E Tavern,N1220 County Road E, Medford, WI, on Thursday October 16th from Noon until 4:00PM
Don was born July 14, 1944 in Medford to Robert and Leona (Thielke) Paustenbach. He married the love of his life, Verna L (Lightsey-Hoffman), on May 10, 1965. Don worked and owned Paustenbach Machine Co. for 46 years. He was the fourth generation to own the machine company that was over 100 years old.
Don enjoyed golf (and had 2 holes in one in his life), bowling, and in early life, playing pool. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and friends. He could be counted on for a smile, a laugh, and a great time.
Don is survived by his children: Cindy (Jeff) Hoffman-Drost, Tim (Katie) Hoffman, Cliff (Tami) Hoffman, Todd (Amie) Hoffman, Donna Paustenbach-Brahmer, and Steven Paustenbach. His brothers: Dave (Karen) Paustenbach and Lee (Patsy) Paustenbach. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous good friends will miss him as well.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Verna L. Paustenbach, his parents Robert and Leona Paustenbach, one son and daughter in law Richard E. And Cathy (Carver) Hoffman, and daughter in law Amie Hoffman.
The family would like to acknowledge and give a special thanks to Don’s brother Lee as well as Tom (Louie) LaShay for their help, love, and support over the last few months. Also, to his son Cliff and daughter Cindy for the great care they gave their father.
