Daren G. Horton

Daren G. Horton, 80, of Medford, died Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Aspirus Hospital in Medford.

He was born November 22, 1945 in Illinois to Harold and Carolyn (Grimm) Horton. He grew up in IL where he attended school.

Daren served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Korea from 1965-1967.  After his honorable discharge, he moved to Wisconsin where he had resided since.

Daren owned and operated Horton Septic for many years.  He then worked as an over-the-road trucker, and an electrician.  He enjoyed woodworking, leather crafts and “putzing” out in his shop.  He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church and will be remembered for his strong faith in God.

On May 23, 2010, Daren married Diana Anderson at Perkinstown Church. It was important for Daren that they were married in a church and even though their marriage was not recognized legally by the state, it was considered binding in God's eyes.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Diana Anderson; two sons, Harold (Christine) and Ernie Horton; stepsons, Cory (Kristie Ulrich) and Eric Anderson; brothers, Clayton (Rose) and Fred Horton; grandchildren, Seth Soper, Sarah Stanton and Darrick Horton; and step-grandchildren, Bryce (Hannah), Isaac, Mason and Dominick Anderson, and Makala Ulrich.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jay Horton.

At Daren’s request, no services will be held.
