Danny "Daniel" Niznik Obituary

Danny “Daniel” Allen Niznik, age 59, of Medford, Wisconsin entered eternal rest on January 21, 2022 while in his home.

A memorial for Daniel Niznik will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Hemer Funeral Service located at 555 West Cedar St, Medford, Wisconsin, with Father Patrick McConnell officiating. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m.

He was born in Medford, Wisconsin on February 16, 1962. His childhood years were spent in Owen-Withee, Wisconsin growing up on a farm with 9 siblings. At a young age, he recognized that his duty was to serve and protect others. Therefore, he enlisted into the military and joined the Army. He was sent to Fort Gordon, Georgia where he received training for multichannel communication. He was then sent to Dornstadt, Germany where he performed communication services for the air defense artillery branch. After 18 months in Germany, he then returned to Fort Hood, Texas in August of 1982. A few years later, he received an honorable discharge and entered civilian life.

He never truly stopped being a soldier after entering civilian life. The work ethic that was instilled in him during his time in the military translated into him working manual labor to provide for and support his family. He was the protector of his family and always put the wellbeing of his family before himself.

His passions included tinkering on his 1983 Camaro and 1991 Harley Davidson. Usually, his tinkering translated into more things having to be fixed but he still enjoyed it. He also enjoyed listening and singing along to rock music a tad too loud. He relished at reminding others of his patriotism by proudly displaying the American flag at any opportunity he got.

Dan's daily phone calls to check in, frequent hugs, bristly mustache above his grinning face, and ability to make others feel like family will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife (Pam Niznik), children (Jenn Henrichs, Alex Niznik, and Miranda Niznik), grandchildren (Taylor Hein, Koy Hoppenworth, Rinley Kloth, and Oaklynn Kloth) , and siblings (Paul Niznik, Robert Niznik, Jerry Niznik, Sherrie Niznik, Pauline Williams, Bonnie Pawelko, and Marlene Eisner). He was preceded in passing by his mother Mary, father Paul, brother Gary, and brother Ronald.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charity.
