Dale G. Bender

Dale G. Bender, age 76, of Medford, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 13, 2024 surrounded by his family and while under the care of Compassus Hospice.

Dale was born November 20, 1947 in Marshfield to Henry and Sylvia (Ploeckelman) Bender.  He grew up in Neillsville/Loyal area, graduating from high school in 1967.

On June 5, 1971, Dale married Linda Moh.  Dale started out farming on a dairy farm in Owen-Withee, and later in Dorchester.  He and Linda then moved to Medford and Dale drove long haul semi for over 20 years until his retirement.  He continued to drive well into his retirement, until he no longer could due to health issues.

In his younger days, Dale and Linda enjoyed dancing, playing cards, shooting pool and going camping.  Dale also liked to tinker in the garage, hunt, fish, watch games shows and old westerns, and play with his dog Snoopy.

He will be missed by his three children, Debra Bender, Patty (Jeremiah) Lubahn, all of Medford, Brian (Elizabeth) Bender of Eau Claire; a brother, Arlen (Julie) Bender of Loyal; a sister, Sandy Malouvh of Medford; grandchildren, Scarlett (Cameron) Ewer, Ariella, Samuel, and Jacob Lubahn, Alexis and Ruby Bender; and his canine companion, Snoopy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda on October 28, 2018.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford with Pastor Barb Krug, SAM, officiating.  Interment will be at 2 p.m., Friday, October 25 at Evergreen Cemetery II in Medford.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Monday at the church.

Memorials are appreciated and will be designated by the family at a later time.
