Cynthia Petersen Obituary

Cyndi "Cynthia" Petersen, aged 51, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, was called home to her Lord on August 18, 2024. Born on April 19, 1973, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, she was a beacon of strength and independence throughout her life.

From childhood Cyndi was determined to live the life she wanted, even when she was told her cerebral palsy wouldn’t allow it. She carried an unwavering confidence in all of her endeavors. She loved to camp, boat, fish, and ride horses with her family. Cyndi attended Camp Wawbeek, traveled to Walt Disney World, New Orleans by train, and countless other places. It was at Stetsonville Elementary School where she was provided a place to attend classes like everyone else. Cyndi completed her education at Marshfield High School, graduated from Mid-State Technical College with a degree in travel services, and later pursued her passion for early childhood development at Chippewa Valley Technical College.

Also a creative person, Cyndi started writing poems when she was just a girl, and later became a published writer. Her work was included in the 1993 and 1994 editions of The National Library of Poetry. The poems were titled "The World We Live In" and "Tell My Heart".

Cyndi used her talent for memorization and applied her gift of gab throughout her career. Her voice first became well known as switchboard specialist at Target, and she continued using her gifts when she moved on her own to Salt Lake City Utah to work as a Corporate Reservations Coordinator at Holiday Inn Hotel Group. When she returned to Wisconsin she purchased her own building lot, designed and owned her own home. Her last place of employment was as a Patient Appointment Services Specialist at Mayo Clinic Health System.

Guided by her unwavering Christian faith, Cyndi approached life with a zeal for God's word, regularly attending Christian concerts, engaging with her online church community and most recently traveled to Texas to attend her favorite online church in person, and go to the beach. She was never shy to share her faith and consulted God in all of life’s decisions. Her love extended to God's creatures, nurturing a special bond with her horse, Moon, and her canine companion, Nora.

Those who will remember her lifetime filled with laughter, love, and adventurous spirit are her devoted mother, Jan (Konrad) Keding; her sister, Amy (Geoff) Hutchinson; her brothers, Carlo Petersen and Brent Gust; her beloved niece, Sanne Petersen; her cherished nephew, Axlan Petersen; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cyndi also leaves behind a host of dear friends whose lives she touched. Joining her in the Kingdom are her father, Robert Petersen, as well as her Auntie Jill Fyksen, Uncle Jack D. Kay, Uncle Tom Kay and cousin Jacqueline "Jackie" Kay.

Cyndi's Prayer

My body is a vessel

It is my spirit and soul that count

Each day I take a step on the staircase of my dreams

When I stumble

I must remember that god rarely grants me what I want

But he always provides what I need.

Amen

From Cyndi - to all of us.
