Craig Scharrschmidt Obituary

Craig K. Scharrschmidt, 65, of Medford, died Friday, December 17, 2021 at Aspirus Hospital in Medford.

A celebration of Craig’s life, along with a motorcycle run will be held in the spring.  The date and time will be announced.

Craig was born August 27, 1956 in Fond du Lac, and adopted by William and Ursula (Russell) Scharrschmidt.  He graduated from Medford High School in 1974.

On July 4, 2013, he married Maggie Hauri in Oshkosh, at Craig’s sister’s home on the lake.

Craig worked for many years at Hurd Windows in Medford, then worked as a truck driver for Bauer Trucking until his retirement.

He was a longtime member of Medford Chapter of the Dry Riders Motorcycle Club and was currently on its Board of Directors.  He loved to ride his motorcycle, and he loved to hunt.  He spent a lot of time in the woods, which he found very peaceful.

He will de dearly missed by his wife, Maggie of Medford; son, Jedidiah (Shila) Scharrschmidt of Eau Claire; stepdaughters, Kaisha Scharrschmidt of Ripon and Breanna Hauri of Columbus, Ohio; siblings, Laura Scharrschmidt Wood of Medford, Jini (John) Diamond of Oshkosh, Jon (Lucille) Mills of Lake Havasu, AZ; sister-in-law, Christine Scharrschmidt of Janesville; step-granddaughter, Gracie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Scharrschmidt; and brother-in-law, Thomas Wood.
