Cecelia L. “Ce” Christensen, 82, of Medford, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 with her son by her side, at Care Partners Assisted Living in Medford while under the care of Hope Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford with the Rev. Amy Heinz officiating.  Burial will follow at Medford Evergreen II Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Ce was born September 20, 1939 in San Francisco, CA to Joseph W. and Frances (DeNardo) Mabe.  She grew up in California and graduated from Summerville Union High School, class of 1958 in Tuolumne, CA.

She married Robert G. Jordan Sr. in 1959. Together they had two sons and resided in Camino, CA where Ce worked as a computer programmer for a bank.  In the 1960’s, she and Robert helped found “Jeepers Jamboree,” a club (still in existence today) that held competitions and obstacle courses for Jeep owners.  Ce was a fierce competitor and loved the hill climbing competition and other challenges.  She was also a great shot and won awards for her single hand pistol shooting.   She and Robert later divorced.

On January 24, 1976, she married Carl W. “Chris” Christensen.  Together they had a son and resided in Camino, California, until moving to the Medford area in 1985.  Ce worked as a cook, waitress, bus driver and side-by-side with Chris at Doherty Tire Co.  She also worked for Phillips Plastics for many years until her retirement.   She was a member of Rib Lake Lions Club and Youth Outreach.   Chris preceded her in death on March 2, 2008.

She enjoyed bowling and worked at a bowling alley when she moved to Wisconsin.  Later in life she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, flower gardening, mahjong, reading and playing cards including cribbage.  She spent time as a volunteer at the hospital playing games with the patients. She truly made friends with everyone she met and enjoyed spending time with people.

Cecelia is survived by her three sons, Robert Jr. (Brenda) Jordan of Medford, Timothy (Dana) Jordan of Plymouth, MN, Charlie Christensen (Jacki Haines) of Medford; step-children, Carl Jeffrey “Jeff” (Donna) Christensen of San Antonio, TX, Chris (Brian) Christensen of Beverly hills, CA, Charlene Draper (Ron) of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Vivian Mabe Lobaugh of Dothan, AL; sisters-in-law, Pat Mabe of CA, Patti Mabe of FL; grandchildren, Danielle (James) Olinger, Matthew (Melanie) Jordan, Rebekah Jordan, Jack Jordan, Michael Christensen (Crystal Kloth), Cole Higgins, Ardyn Christensen, Sara (Josh) Brock, Kelly (Cody) Covington, Amanda Draper; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Illa and Grace Olinger, and Adelyn Covington; and many nieces and nephews.
