Brendan James Olsen, 28, of Medford, passed away at his home on Friday, July 31, 2026.
A Celebration of Life for Brendan will be on August 8th, 2026 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at W6828 Maplewood Lane, Medford WI 54451
Brendan was born on August 3, 1997, to Anthony "Tony" James Olsen and Elizabeth Hansen. He graduated from Medford Area Senior High School in 2016. Throughout his career, Brendan dedicated himself to caring for others, working as a CNA at Aspirus Hospital in Medford and The Colonial Center in Colby. Most recently, he was employed at Deluxe Plastics.
Brendan had a deep love for music and was an accomplished guitar player. He enjoyed sharing his talent with others and had a gift for making people laugh. His quick wit, kind heart, and sense of humor will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
Brendan's greatest joy was his son, Mateo R.J. Olsen, whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his son, Mateo R.J. Olsen; his mother, Elizabeth (Jay) Werner of Medford; his father, Tony Olsen of Medford; his sister, MaKayla (Dylon) Strassburger of Dorchester; his maternal grandmother, Mary (Mike) Cornell of Dorchester; his maternal great-grandmother, Marie Mueller of Colby; and his paternal grandfather, Russell Brugge of Owen. He is further survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Brendan was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Marie Brugge; his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Hansen; his maternal step-grandfather, Michael Cornell, and his two beloved dogs, Ridley and Toby James Keith.
