Alvin Kloth Obituary

Alvin Melvin Kloth, 89, of the town of Browning, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family, while under the care of Hope Hospice.

Alvin was born on December 24, 1935 on the family farm in Taylor County to Edward and Edna (Schlais) Kloth.

On March 2, 1957, Alvin married Rose Mary “Rosie” Tom at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. They purchased the farm in the town of Browning from Alvin’s parents and farmed there from 1957 until they sold the farm in 2000. Alvin will be remembered for his tireless dedication to hard work, a quality he instilled in his children.

Once retired, Alvin & Rosie enjoyed visits to the casino, auctions, and day trips to visit family. He also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and swimming.  He helped establish the Moonlite Snowmobile Club in Gad and was the last living founder. In addition, he formerly served as club president.

Survivors include two sons, James Kloth and Michael (Linda) Kloth, both of Medford; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great-great-granddaughter; a son-in-law, Allen McNamar; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Rosie on March 28, 2025; children, Richard Kloth and Ann McNamar; all eight of his siblings; and a daughter-in-law, Janine Kloth.

A funeral service for Alvin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Richard Russow officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery II in Medford.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m., Friday at the church.

Memorials will be designated at a later date.

Alvin’s family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Hope Hospice for their devoted care, compassion, and support.
